Kazakstan and World Wide nix merger plans

The previously announced merger of World Wide Minerals (WWS-T) and Kazakstan Goldfields (KGFC-C) has been terminated. In addition, World Wide will not purchase the stake in Kazakstan Goldfields held by Central Asia Goldfields (CGZ-M), or that company’s interest in the Gold Pool joint venture.

In Kazakstan, World Wide is engaged in uranium mining, processing and marketing through its 95% subsiduary, KazUran. Kazakstan Goldfields, through Gold Pool, operates three gold mines in the country.
